"Inspired By Kf Schinkel (1781-1841), Library Armchair, Rest Armchair, Period XXth Century"
Very beautiful library or rest armchair in varnished wood and covered with a grooved velvet fabric. This very comfortable seat is directly inspired by the famous model with reversed backrest created by Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781-1841) at the very beginning of the 19th century. Schinkel was a German architect and decorator, he was one of the most recognized furniture designers of his time. Very inspired by the classic style of Antiquity, his taste for this period is particularly found in this armchair incorporating all the codes antique decor: reversed backrest and volute armrests resting on a stylized X-shaped support. Very comfortably padded, our armchair naturally invites you to relax and rest or read. It is in good house condition, the cream-coloured grooved upholstery is also in good condition but still has some small traces of use as well as a tiny brown dot on one of the armrests. Armchair of exceptional comfort, very well made from the middle of the 20th century.
