"Snuffers And Tray , Toulouse 1725-1732, Jean I Lacère, Sterling Silver"
Extremely rare pair of snuffers and their tray in sterling silver from the Regency period with the hallmarks of the city of Toulouse and of the famous master goldsmith Jean I Lacère, received master goldsmith in 1689. The two objects are from the same city and the same master goldsmith but from slightly different periods. The snuffers bear the date letter for the year 1725. The tray was made a few years later because it bears the discharge punch for the period 1732-38. Both are perfectly matched and engraved with the same coat of arms "of azure furnished with a three-masted ship" surmounted by a marquis's crown. The set weighs 420 grams.
