Wonderfull richly and finely chiseled wrought iron rifle plate, from armory workshops of Brescia, Italy,Period: 2nd part of 17th century.
The shape of the mainplate and its rich ornamental register (screaming heads, grotesques, fantastic animals or monsters) are characteristic of this exceptional Italian production.
Perfect condition; Note the iron used patina with gun powder on fire weapon pelvis, showing its prolonged use for more than 3 centuries...
The whole mechanism is perfectly operating condition.
