The wing is decorated with scenes with motifs of nereids, tritons and cupids in the tradition of bas-reliefs in French art.

Related works: The scenes on the marli: The newt blowing in the conch and Cupid on a dolphin, the Nereid newt couple as well as the central motif: the group of Galatea are taken from the "Triumph of Galatea" by Clodion. A terracotta proof is kept at the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen, another in stone, at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris. The drawing of the central motif by the artist Jules Brateau is reproduced P64 in Jean Christophe Boucaud's book.
