Briefcase with 10 original lithographs of Jewish story "Anatevka" after Sholom Aleichem novel "Tevie the Milkman" Printed book (Europa edition, Vienna, 1968) with 10 original lithographs in a briefcase by the famous Austrian Jewish scenographer, illustrator and draftsman Heinrich Sussmann (1904-1986) with text by Manfred Vogel. The work is complete, numbered 8 in pencil) by the artist from 1 to 10, signed and dated by hand: H.Sussmann, (19)68. drawings then lithographs to the famous "Anatevka".
Anatevka cannot be found on regular maps, but this story of village life in the Tsar Russia with its Getto Jewish destinies has marked the history of literature and theater. . Anatevka is based on the world famous story of the great Jewish author Sholem Aleichem "Tevye the Milkman" and others. In America, the musical "Fiddler on the Roof" was created after this main literary collection, which quickly conquered the stages of the world. Heinrich Sussmann (1904-1986) studied graphic design and painting in Paris, scene painting and interior design - in Vienna. First exhibition in Paris in 1926. He exhibited in Cairo (1927) and Berlin (1928). from 1929 to 1933 - worked as a cartoon illustrator at Ullstein in Berlin. From 1933 to 1939 - as an illustrator and scenographer in Paris. from 1941 to 1944 - he again fought fascism in the French Resistance. 1944 he is arrested by the Gestapo; on the military prison of Fresnes intervened in Auschwitz. 1945 return to Vienna. Creates himself as a scenographer, graphic designer, painter a name. Participation followed by exhibitions and self-exhibitions in the country and abroad. His works can be found in museums and private properties in Austria and abroad. Many prizes and distinctions.
