Polylobed cup in chiseled bronze by the sculptor emeritus Jules Cayette (1882-1953) from the School of Nancy. Lorraine decor of thistles, a butterfly from the cross of Lorraine and embellished with the proverbs "who rubs it there piques it - Nancy". One of the great names of the Art Nouveau movement and the beginnings of Art Deco, having collaborated with Daum, Amaric Walter, Victor Prouvé, Eugène Vallin and Jacques Grüber, among others. The rarity of his timeless works and the quality of his works make Jules Cayette an artist rediscovered and prized today. An identical work was sold for 2700 euros (excluding costs).
