"Marine Chest In Camphor Wood - Late Nineteenth"
The top of this chest is made of a single camphor board, the angles and edges are protected by rounded brass plates called strips. The front, sides and back are also made of a single camphor plank. The lid opens with two recessed brass boat handles, and is held open by a brass compass called "knee". This safe is equipped with two locks in perfect working order accompanied by their keys. On each side we observe bronze carrying handles. This chest, used in the 19th century to transport the personal effects of naval officers, has a large storage capacity.
