"Alexis Ernest Charbonnier - "woman With Hummingbird""
Small painting by the painter Alexis-Ernest CHARBONNIER (1846 - 1932) representing a naked woman lying on a couch feeding a green hummingbird in a room with orientalist decor. The painting is signed lower left "AE Charbonnier". Born in Nancy in 1846 where he died in 1932, Alexis-Ernest Charbonnier was a pupil of Cabanel, Sellier and Leborne. He appeared at the Salon de Nancy between 1868 and 1913 with many Lorraine landscapes, some genre scenes, natures dead bodies and portraits. The Museum of Toul preserves of him: Head of a monk and The pose of the model.
