"A 18th Century French Aubusson Tapestry"
A luxurious 18th century French Aubusson tapestry, depicting a rural landscape in which three shepherds watch helplessly as one of their lambs is carried off by an opportunistic wolf. Hand-woven in wool, in predominantly green and cream hues with a border on all sides, this antique wall hanging is an excellent example of an Aubusson tapestry, steeped in themes of a pastoral nature, and brimming with dense foliage, flora, fauna and whimsical architecture.
