"Thumb Stamp, Gold And Carnelian. Late Eighteenth Century."
This two-color gold seal is mounted with a carnelian intaglio, it represents a young woman in the bust wearing a kerchief, bare breasts. The reverse is decorated around the edge with a double frieze and a kind of finely chiseled lyre under the bail. It bears the control mark "ET" in force since 1864, it is affixed to unmarked pieces with a fineness of less than 750 thousandths and whose historical or aesthetic interest justifies their conservation. Period late 18th century. Dimensions of the intaglio 2.2 cm x 1.6 cm, height 2.2 cm. Gross weight 4 grams.
