Rare plaster cast of the Bas-Relief in marble kept at the Thorvaldsen Museum in Copenhagen and produced by the museum in the 1960s. Anacreon, poet of love and celebration, lived in Athens around 520 BC and was loved there for its charm and lightness. He was the subject of many artistic and lyrical evocations, including the work of Thorvaldsen reproduced here
