"Pair Of Cassolettes Flower Vases Mounted In Candelabra With Lilies And Rams, XIXth Time"
Superb pair of marble and gilt bronze candelabra. On a gilt bronze tripod base with goats' feet wrapped in acanthus leaves, 3 ram's heads and garlands of flowers support a covered basin in Turquin gray marble surrounded by pearl friezes. From there, springs a floral bouquet of leaves and lilies forming 6 arms of light for each candelabra. Large and very decorative objects in the style of mounted objects created by Pierre Gouthière in the 18th century. Our examples were designed under Napoleon III around 1860. The gilding of the bronze is original and very shiny, it was cleaned and found under thick layers of gold varnish which must have been applied at the beginning of the 20th century (it remains in the hollows a few tiny traces of gold varnish). One of the marble lids was formerly broken and reattached (this can only be seen if you look at it). These are rare pieces on the market, with great precision in the carving of the bronze and the use of the very rare Turquin gray marble. Delivery in wooden crate on pallet, 100 euros in France, 300 euros in EU and 1000 euros rest of the world.
