Early work, rare on the market, imbued with a certain naivety but with a certain charm.
After studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Académie Julian in 1916, influenced by Pierre Bonnard, he began working in Brittany, notably at Faouët, before settling in Doëlan. He exhibited in 1926 at the Salon des Indépendants, the date of this work. He gradually moved towards non-figuration at the end of the 1940s and became one of the leaders of post-war abstraction alongside Pierre Tal Coat, Georges Mathieu, Jean Degottex. ..
