"Buffet Two Regional Bodies In Cherry, Louis XIV Period - 1740"
Buffet Two Regional Bodies in Blond Cherry, Louis XIV period. This Diminutive-type storage unit is by definition made up of an upper body that is less wide and shallower than the one on which it rests. Each of these elements opens with two doors, cut with moldings and flat strips, just like the sides of the cabinet. They are equipped with keyholes and period iron plugs. They lock and this sideboard is supplied with its two original keys. The leaves of the first Body are, in the upper part, slightly curved and have astonishing Decorative punchings. The frame features a carved circle in its center, an ornament that is also found on its canted corners, characteristic of the reign of the Sun King. The interiors offer, for the upper element, two 37 cm deep shelves and, for the lower part, a single, larger one, 57 cm. All are removable and placed on fixed cleats. This Buffet Deux Corps is topped by a large, richly worked Double Cornice and its low crosspiece is molded. The backs are in oak, designed with uprights and lightly worked panels, as for a ceremonial piece of furniture. The set rests on two rounded front legs and two straight rear legs. We will emphasize the elegance of the lines of this Buffet Deux Corps originating from the Loire Valley, the pretty color of its wood, and its authenticity in its entirety.
