"Hc Dupont : "the Schoolboy""
HC Dupont (19th/20th century): “Young schoolboy”, oil on canvas 81 X 60 cm, mounted in a wooden frame with an inverted slope 94 X 73 cm. Signed and dated 1906, this canvas is "rough attic", dirty with tears and lacks. There is indeed in Bénézit a Henri-Ernest-Clément Dupont-Crespin, painter of portraits and landscapes, born in Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville (formerly Seine-Inférieure) to whom the auctioneers attribute works bearing this signature, but I'm skeptical, so I'll let the buyer make up his own mind. Still, this young schoolboy in uniform, with his Scottish ascot and his hand firmly hanging on his belt is very nice and deserves to be restored.
