Le recueil contient 84 pages de texte et 40 lithographies d’après Petit par Adam, Raffet, Bellangé, etc., dont 17 portraits en pied du Roi, des Princes et des principaux personnages (le duc de Nemours, le duc d’Orléans, La Fayette…) et 23 scènes des moments clés de la chute des Bourbons.
En fin d’ouvrage, une table nominative des citoyens auxquels a été décerné la croix de juillet.
