A brilliant impressionist portrait of a lady in a hat was made by the French painter Maurice Polack (Polak), active in Paris at the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century. The painter has been a member of the Society of French Artists since 1883 and exhibits there.
Polack is listed in: E.Benezit, Dictionary of painters, sculptors, draftsmen and engravers, Gruend, 1999.
Inscription: signed M.Polack and dated 1904, lower left.
Technique: oil on canvas. Original frame partially gold plated.
Dimensions: unframed 38 x 40.5 cm, framed 65 x 75 cm.
