"Maison Krieger Bouillotte Table In Marquetry"
Refined salon table in late 19th century marquetry stamped with a hot iron from the KRIEGER house in Paris (Antoine Krieger, cabinetmaker 1804-1869) model called Bouillotte table in the Transition style with rich decoration in precious wood marquetry such as wood rose, kingwood and rosewood. It opens with two drawers and two zippers which are part of the belt animated by geometric patterns forming a perspective, the top is decorated with a large polylobed rosette surrounded by a border with a frieze of simulated grooves. The set rests on four arched legs ending in finely chiseled bronze clogs with a foliage pattern. Very good general condition, dimensions: 75 cm high X 82 cm in diameter. Antoine Krieger (1804-1869), originally from Bas-Rhin, moved with his brother Nicolas around 1826 to Paris. Located at 17 rue Saint-Nicolas, it can be found at n°77 then 52 rue du faubourg St Antoine. He obtained a medal in London in 1852. At the Universal Exhibition of 1855, he presented a pretty sideboard, in sculpted panels with a medallion representing stag hunting. The furniture of this House are recognized and sought after for their quality and elegance.
