"Deer In The Meadow By Anton Weinberger (1843 - 1912)"
This hunting picture with Roebuck in the meadow was executed by the famous German animal and landscape painter Anton Weinberger (1843 Munich - 1912 Wiesbaden). The artist studied since 1860 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, worked as a drawing teacher in Leipzig and St. Petersburg (1872), then studied in Berlin by Paul Meyerheim. In 1884 he lived in Vienna, where he worked as a court painter (portraits of dogs), then until 1888 in Munich, bis 1902 - in Wiesbaden. His works located in the various noble collections among others in the castle of Gera, the hunting castle Hummelshain by Kahla, the museums of Mainz and Wiesbaden.

Inscription: signed and dated lower right: A.Weinberger, München, 1910; on the back of the stretcher there is an old adhesive label in German: "Deer at rest in the heather".
Technique: oil on canvas. Original period frame.
Dimensions: unframed: 70 x 54 cm; framed 82.5 x 66 cm.
Condition: in very good condition.
