"Henri Bouchard Old Bronze Bust Portrait Of The Painter Desire Lucas Signed Art Deco"
Rare discovery of a lost wax bronze signed Henri Bouchard, representing the portrait of the Breton painter Louis Marie Désiré Lucas, Cast signed Bisceglia. Without justification of the draw, our bronze is undoubtedly one of only two made by the foundry, the first bearing a dedication. "Affectionately / to my friend Bouchard / Désiré Lucas". The bust made in 1937 was exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français. Many thanks to Amandine Delcourt and Bruno Gaudichon of the Musée de la Piscine in Roubaix who confirmed the attribution of this work. Bronze in good condition with its original patina, photos above. Dimensions: total 42 cm x 29 cm x 28 cm.
