Sword - Firefighter Officer - Model 1816 - Restoration Period

Firefighter officer's sword, model 1816, restoration period, 19th century. Brass frame, guard with one branch, spherical pommel, vertically fluted ebony spindle, keyboard decorated in the round with a helmet on 2 crossed axes, surrounded by laurel and oak branches. Against fixed keyboard chiseled with palmette. Blade with flat back with 1 edge and counter edge in the last third with central fuller in the two thirds. Blade engraved with floral motifs and military attributes and initials on the heel "PDL".
