Olga Vassilievna Choumansky or Olga de Courville, born March 8, 1896 and died in 1971, was a Romanian and then French decorator, designer, painter and costume designer. She exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, of which she was a member, in 1928, the composition En Bretagne, then made the following year a special exhibition at the Galerie Bernheim-Jeune1. A theater and film decorator, she teaches theatrical decoration at the Académie Malebranche (Paris) and at the Proscénium de Mona Sanghor. She is the wife of theater director Xavier de Courville (1894-1984). Francis Picabia writes about her: “I looked at this woman for a long time, her drawings, her paintings; she loves life which, however, has often proved to be bad for her. I have in front of me an artist..."
