Important Nubian torchiere holder in gilded and polychrome carved wood, Venice Italy XIXth. The sculpture of the Nubian is presented standing, holding a flowery tray in one hand and the other carrying at arm's length a torchiere made up of a flowery candelabra in bronze and gilded brass (wear, formerly electrified). He wears a costume richly decorated with flowers and arabesques on a gilded background with gold leaf, the costume is enriched with a green and purple drapery painted with flowers and a polychrome golden turban. The sculpture rests on a hexagonal column in imitation porphyry decorated with stylized faun masks holding a garland of flowers wrapped in carved and gilded wood.
