Still Life With Fruit, Butterfly And Beetle Attributed To Jan Van Dael

Still life with peaches, grapes, fly, butterfly and beetle, original oil on canvas, dimensions 33 cm x 41 cm, with the carved wooden frame 53 cm x 61 cm, attributed to Jan van Dael. Our still life is similar to that exhibited at the Museum of Orleans, under the title "nature of peaches and grapes on an entablature". This superb still life corresponds perfectly to the quality of the works of this painter, born in 1764 in Antwerp and who moved to Paris in 1787. He exhibited at the Salon from 1793 to 1833 and throughout his life his work enjoyed both public and institutional recognition.
