"Set Of 2 Photos Of The Chevojon Studio In Paris Of Period Living Room And Dining Room Furniture Art Deco 1935"
Set of 2 original vintage black and white photos on silver paper dating from 1935 showing a living room and dining room model designed by Jacques Tisseyre. They bear on the back the stamp of the famous photographer CHEVOJON 9 rue Cadet in Paris whose studio has gone through the 20th century, and still at the same address. These photos are of high quality. The handwritten initials JT are those of Jacques Tisseyre, an interior decorator from the 1920s to the end of the 1940s who notably worked for the Atelier d'Art du Bon Marché in Paris, Atelier Pomone, under the direction of Rene Prou. Fine draftsman and tireless worker, he belongs to this generation of interior designers, decorators, glassmakers or cabinetmakers who, in those years, brought out a new style, the Art Deco style, between fidelity to traditional styles and modernism. I have a few other photos but also many tracings of interior architecture projects, in graphite, of gouache drawings by the same artist who has participated in numerous artistic exhibitions or Salons such as the Salon des Arts Ménagers in Paris, the Colonial Exhibition of 1931 or the Social Progress Exhibition in Lille and Roubaix in 1939. Dimensions: 23 cm x 29 cm Good condition. Very slight traces of age. A scratch on the back of one of the photos created a slight relief on the front side. Many other objects to discover in my stand at the antique fairs in which I participate. Follow my gallery to be informed of news and know the dates of the next Salons ... I remain at your disposal.
