Superb Christ in very finely carved Dieppe ivory, it is presented in a spectacular Provençal rococo frame in carved, openwork and gilded with gold leaf. The Christ is 19th, the frame is from the Louis XV period around 1750. The gold leaf gilding is superb and in very good condition, with reliefs treated in gloss (burnished with agate). The bottom is stretched with a dark brown silk velvet Work in ivory carved more than 100 years before the Washington Convention of 1947, and therefore in accordance with the regulation of the ivory trade. The set is in excellent condition. The frame has been cleaned by our gilder, the gold gilding is very fresh. The ivory of Christ remained very white, he kept all his fingers.
