The feet, barrels and binets are cut sides, octagonal in shape. (The bobèches are round and are probably not vintage. Certainly a more recent addition).
A crowned C hallmark on each clearly visible foot.
The crowned C hallmark was introduced from 1745 to 1749 on all old or new works of bronze, pure copper, cast iron, mixed copper, forged, ground, beaten, planed, engraved, gilded, silvered and coloured, without no exception, under the reign of Louis XV.
The text specifying that it must be applied to both new and old works, so it is not unlikely to find it on previous works.
This tax was very unpopular with the health of the different social strata, therefore, quickly abandoned.
It attested to the payment of the tax used to finance the War of the Austrian Succession and other campaigns.
They are in a superb state of preservation.
The punches are very clean and very legible.
