This circular headgear is in wood finely decorated with textured lacquer on the upper part and smooth and shiny on the reverse. A decoration of kamon and green and red ocher scrolls occupy the main disc.
The mon, the family heraldic symbol, placed on the front was used by the Tokugawa. On the reverse, this weapon hat is black lacquered.
