Henri-François-Joseph de Régnier, born in Honfleur (Calvados) on December 28, 1864 and died in Paris on May 23, 1936, was a French writer, novelist and poet, close to symbolism. He is first known for his poetry (his main influence is José Maria de Hérédia, whose daughter he married). He entered the French Academy in 1911.
