Beautiful pair of period portraits of Louis XV and Marie Leszczynska (presumed of).
In exceptional condition, on their original paintings. They have not been restored.
Sold with their 18th century original frames in carved wood.
These period portraits were used as diplomatic gifts, but were also commissioned by the nobility to prove admiration and devotion to the King.
Like most paintings of that time, they are not signed to my knowledge. Of great quality, there is certainly a beautiful discovery to make for the one who will know to whom to attribute it.
