This is an original oil painting by the famous German animalist Meta Pluckenbaum (1876 Dortmund - after 1933 Düsseldorf). She was listed as an artist who worked in the late 1800s and early 1900s and made many animal portraits. His work is well known around the world. His etchings with cats and dogs fetch high prices at international auctions, but such original paintings like ours are quite rare on the art market.
