"Pierre Gaston Rigaud : "the Parasol Pines""
Pierre Gaston Rigaud (1874-1939): “The umbrella pines”, oil on canvas 54 X 65 cm mounted in a beautiful Parnassian frame 74 X 83cm. Father of Jean Rigaud Painter of the Navy, he left us many paintings of interiors of churches and cathedrals of which he had made a specialty, working them in a divisionist touch serving wonderfully the reflections of the stained glass windows... e find this "melted pointillist" touch in the beautiful landscapes of the South-West which are extremely sought after by amateurs. We have not located this one, but the chassis comes from Maison Grézy in Bordeaux. Very good condition, four very small restorations very well done. Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone. In partnership with Galerie Lafouresse, we specialize in paintings on the Basque Country, the Landes and the Bassin d'Arcachon. Other photos and many other objects in our shops in Pau and Biarritz and on our website: galerielhoste.com.
