"Young Beauty With Pigeon By Johann Caspar Herterich (1843 - 1905)"
Johann Caspar Herterich (1843 in Ansbach - 1905 in Munich) was a Munich history and genre painter and an influential teacher at this art academy. Johann Caspar Herterich (also Johann Kaspar Herterich) was the son and pupil of the sculptor and restorer Franz Herterich (1798-1876) and the older brother of the painter Ludwig von Herterich. After moving to Munich, he became a pupil of Philipp Foltz and Carl Theodor de Piloty. From 1882 he was an assistant professor and from 1884 as a successor to Gyula Benczúr a professor at the Munich Training Arts Academy in the nature class. Among his students were among others Benno Elkan, Iosif Iser, Bruno Paul Hetze, Alexander Eckener, Max Slevogt, Theodor Doebner, August Savage and Leonid Ossipowitsch Pasternak. Some of his works located in the "New Pinakotek" museum, Munich.
