"Dead Sea In Palestine By Emil Uhl (german, B.1864)"
An extremely rare view of the Dead Sea in ancient Palestine (now Israel) was executed in 1890-1900 by the German-Austrian impressionist and orientalist Emil Uhl (b. 1864 in Brüx). Student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, perfected in Paris by Bonnat and Roll. Worked in Munich and Vienna. The artist traveled to the East, to Egypt, to Palestine, from where he received the main motifs for his paintings. His oriental landscapes, executed in the impressionist (pointillist) manner, are very rare on the art market.
