Born in 1825 and died in 1900, Charles Joseph Monginot is a French painter belonging to the academic artistic style. From his childhood, his talents for drawing and painting are noticed allowing him to enter the School of Fine Arts in Paris, in the studio of Thomas Couture. He befriends Edouard Manet. Renowned painter in Paris, he mainly produces portraits, still lifes and genre scenes.
