Post-Impressionist view of the port in southern France (Martiques?) was executed at the turn of the 20th century by the French painter Charles Malfroy (1862-1918), a native of Lyon, who specialized in views of Mediterranean ports, and one of Martigues in particular, he enjoyed painting along its shores.
