Gendarmerie pistol, model 1842, July Monarchy period (1830-1848), 19th century. Round barrel with 5 short sides to the thunder, date 1847 and hallmarks "MR", right side. Interior of the smooth barrel. Breech tail marked: 1842. Plate on the back engraved "MANUFACTURE ROYALE DE ST-ETIENNE", numerous control punches on all the metal parts and on the barrel. Walnut stock with smooth round hilt in corbin's beak with metal cap, bearing many stamps and numbers. Long barrel ending at the front third of the barrel. No rear sight, no front sight.
