RARE ORIGINAL BAROQUE MUSEUM Commode XVIII 1740! 18th century Baroque chest of drawers, a rarity circa 1740 supported on four flattened spheres; three drawers, with straight sides and a concave-convex front; drawer fronts, tops and sides decorated with ornaments inlaid with geometric ribbons; the top is formed by a flattened quarter round, the top is richly inlaid with a coat of arms Eye of Providence Eye of Providence (also the all-seeing eye) - symbol of an eye surrounded by rays of light or glory, usually enclosed in a triangle. It is sometimes interpreted as a symbol of the eye of God watching over people (see providence). The eye of providence is often read as an artistic image of God presented as a pictograph consisting of an open eye inscribed in an isosceles triangle, from the sides of which rays are visible. The symbol in its current form first appeared in the West in the 17th and 18th centuries, but all-seeing eye symbols have their origins in Egyptian mythology and the Eye of Horus symbol. Seventeenth-century images of the eye of providence sometimes show it surrounded by clouds. Later, the symbol of the eye in a closed triangle began to be considered a symbol of the Holy Trinity in the Christian religion. In Poland, the eye of providence has become deeply embedded in the consciousness of recipients as a symbol of divinity. In Pszczyna at ul. Ratuszowa, there is an apartment building called Pod Okiem Opatrzności, which got its name from this symbol on its facade. This motif is also found on the facades of the Polish Catholic Church of St. Casimir and the Church of St. John of Jerusalem in Poznań, on the high altar of the parish church of St. Adalbert in Jeleśnia, on the altar in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Górzno, above the altar in the parish church of St. John Nepomuk in Sipiory [1], in the parish church of the Holy Spirit in Zambrów, as well as in the Church of Divine Providence in Bielsko-Biała and the Church of Martin Luther in the same town and in the Evangelical Reformed Church in Zelów, as well as in the parish church of St. Florian in Brwinów [footnote needed]. The eye of providence can be seen on the coat of arms and the flag of Radzymin. The history of the coat of arms dates back to the beginning of the 18th century, when the city was threatened by a plague. After its expiration, locals believed that in those difficult days, God's providence was watching over the city, which was reflected in the rather mild effects of the epidemic. Radzymin's coat of arms was officially approved on October 3, 1936 [2]. ; lack of drawer handles someone previously said that they do not want them and places for them supplemented with veneer, acanthus; similar interlocking plates in the shape of acanthus flagella; Material: walnut, veneer inlaid with different varieties of mahogany, plum and other fruit trees Very good condition, slight cracks in the veneer and small defects between the drawers, visible in the photo, and the concave table top due to dry boards Origin Europe Central Germany?
