"Important Column In Carved Wood Napoleon III Period XIX"
Important Louis XVI style column in carved gilt wood and gray lacquer Napoleon III XIX th century. Cylindrical barrel sculpted with rudent grooves and golden asparagus. Upper part decorated with four garlands in gilded wood delicately carved with foliage flowers connected by wrapped knots, ending in a Doric capital. It rests on a square base with a double evolution sculpted with a gadrooned golden frieze. Original gold leaf gilding and patina in good condition (base moldings formerly re-gilded with gold leaf) Louis XVI style work finely carved with unusual proportions making a remarkable pedestal from the Napoleon III period
