"Art Deco Cobra Lamp - Edgar Brandt - Circa 1925"
Iconic and emblematic model of Edgar Brandt, this bronze lamp with brown and golden patina represents a cobra facing us with its mouth open, from which its disturbing forked tongue sticks out. The dangerous reptile is wrapped around a glass paste tulip and takes up the stylistic codes of the famous "Temptation" lamp presented by Edgar Brandt in 1920 on the theme of the biblical serpent of Adam and Eve. Contemplating the finely worked scales and the impression given off by this almost living reptile, one can only be in awe of the virtuosity of one of the most famous metalworkers of the Art Deco period.
The lamp is signed hollow on the tail "E Brandt" and numbered 63 on the underside. Circa 1925
