"Two Elegant, Gouache By Georges De Feure"
Two elegant, gouache on paper by Georges de Feure, in a period leather frame with an oak leaf motif (slight scratches) A true "one-man band" of art nouveau according to Louis Vauxcelles, Georges de Feure was notably illustrated by his collaboration with Siegfried Bing for the Maison de l'Art Nouveau. The pattern and colors of the foliage are similar to a carpet project, made between 1900 and 1903 and kept at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris (inv: CD2697) and presented in the catalog (p.85) of the exhibition Georges de Feure from the Departmental Museum Maurice Denis "Le Prieuré" in 1995.
