"Chest Of Drawers In Violet Wood, Louis XV Period - Eighteenth"
Chest of drawers with three identical drawers whose fronts are in kingwood veneer arranged in a frieze with a wire band around their edges. They are dressed in handles with two bronze fasteners and in the center of an entrance with a key that activates a lock in perfect working order, all these elements are original. On each side, two rounded legs flanked by marquetry of similar wood species and of the same arrangement, end in the lower part with a curved base. The sides present four elements of veneer, technique known as "à Quatre Feuilles" with framing in marquetry of kingwood. The top is in thick marble, brocatelle in sienna and eggshell tones, molded in square and rounded grooves. The drawer interiors are in walnut. The dust covers present between each of these compartments are made of pine, just like the bottom and the back of this period furniture. This furniture of an interesting width and of quality benefited from the use of precious wood and an authentic assembly of the 18th century.
