"Semainier In Amaranth Veneer And Marquetry, Louis XV Style - Early Twentieth"
Lovely Semainier in the Louis XV style, whose top consists of a beautiful Aleppo marble in beige tones matching the shape of the piece of furniture, embellished with a bec-de-corbin molding. This piece of furniture is composed of 7 drawers of the same height with a curved front, in Amaranth veneer decorated with floral motifs in marquetry, and in oak for their bottoms and sides. They are each furnished with bronze pull handles, and a keyhole of the same alloy: this one, original like the key that accompanies it, is in working order. This property rests on quarter-round legs veneered in horizontal amaranth, ending in a Louis XV “bump” leg with a bronze sabot. This base stands out harmoniously with the low crosspiece on the front, nicely scalloped and decorated in its potbellied part with a bronze representing a shell with foliage. The sides of this property, made of the same species, wonderfully illustrate in their central part the technique of butterfly wing veneer, underlined by an elegant cutout all around. Graceful and refined, this Louis XV semainier will delight you with the delicacy of its ornamentation, and the quality of the cabinetmaking work from which it has benefited.
