POPULAR ART/CHOCOLATE CUP COMTAT DE FORCALQUIER PROVENCE CIRCA 1850. Large 19th century chocolate cutter (circa 1850) in fruit wood (cherry, walnut, chestnut) for the body and wrought/beaten iron for the blade as well as the attachment . The trencher (blade or cleaver) of forged steel in the shape of an arc, bears on a solid wood anvil (restorations) strongly dug by use; it is held by a forged ring, riveted in the thickness of the off-centre head anvil. Provençal work from the Comtat de Forcalquier. Good condition, beautiful patina (various and old restorations, inherent in an old object and used regularly; see descriptive photos). Weight: 4.654 kg.
