Charming and delicate bouquets of garden roses, in a beautiful Delft earthenware vase. the touch is delicate and refined, the thick material accentuating the volume of the flowers. the picture is painted in oil on a panel. it has been framed and placed under glass in its very pretty original frame. it has two old labels with the number 63 on one and the mention sold on the other. I think the painting was exhibited in a gallery. So I left everything "natural". Signed in ink lower right. Paul Albert Laurens was born in Paris in 1870 and died in Toulon in 1934. Referenced in Bénézit and in Schurr (Little Masters of Painting). Many museums keep his works.
