"Panel Painting"
Painting on panel "Capriccio with a bridge over a canal" by B. Rizzo. It's a fantastic performance set in Venice. The term Capriccio refers, in fact, to this kind of images invented and fixed in a really existing place. In the center of the panoramic painting is the bridge over the canal. The water meanders painfully along the masonry banks. Beyond the main bridge you can see another bridge in the distance and then the sea. We understand that we are on the edge of town because to the left of center stands the mast of a ship with a floating sail. On the left we can see, perhaps, an interior garden which is accessed through a semi-ruined arch. On the right we see the facade of a small church and the wall of a building on which opens a pointed arch. Groups of people are spread across the bridge and along the banks of the canal. They are only sketched figurines which are used to animate the scene.
