"Provençal Chest Of Drawers In Solid Walnut, Aix-en-provence, Louis XV Period"
Beautiful and large chest of drawers in golden blond walnut wood opening with two slightly curved front drawers. They present a beautiful sculpture decorated with rocaille reserves on the drawers, adorned with a beautiful original mercury gilt bronze trim in the shape of foliage and flowers. An elegant fretwork and openwork crosspiece with large acanthus leaves, ending in its center with a large flat shell symbolizing a Regency decor. The curved sides marry a nice apron movement specific to the Louis XV style. The uprights are finished with so-called snail feet and provided with acanthus leaves. Its walnut wood top is molded with a corbin beak. Work from Aix from the beginning of the reign of Louis XV around 1745, 18th century. In perfect state of conservation. Private collection. Dimensions: l.136 cm x d.67 cm x h.92.5 cm.
