Giovanni Stanchi (Rome, 1608-1675) Giovanni Stanchi, called Dei Fiori (Rome, around 1608 - 1675) Pair of oil paintings on canvas with old frames Dimensions: canvas 45x60cm, with frames: 55x70cm Expertiese: Prof. Emilio Negro Giovanni Stanchi was a 17th century Italian painter. He was above all an author of still lifes and worked mainly in Rome throughout the seventeenth century. Stanchi marked the transition from the naturalism of Caravaggio to the more mature phase of Baroque decorativism. He was most likely trained in the workshop of Agostino Verrocchio, one of the most important in Rome at that time.
