Framed Oil On Canvas Representing Perseus Delivering Andromeda, By Charles Camarroque

Incredible painting by Charles Camarroque representing Perseus delivering Andromeda from the sea monster thanks to Medusa's head. Dated 1875. Charles Camarroque was a painter from Bordeaux, student of Cabanel, he exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1875 and 1880. The format of this painting is fascinating because the character of Andromeda is almost human size. Note the work of the original simple but refined frame in natural wood, finely chiseled with flowers and interlacing, highlighting and giving all its importance to the scene.

Condition : This is a work that presents restorations : repaints and patches at the back.
Note on the last picture an old restoration coming off its patch.
