The William Guérin & Compagnie factory opened its doors in 1870 and then developed by building numerous workshops in 1879 and between 1892 and 1904. In 1890 the Guérin et Compagnie company produced the porcelain panels that make up the frieze of the Limoges halls (place de la Motte), then in 1893 those that adorn the fountain of the Town Hall. In 1911, W. Guérin, associated with his two sons since 1903, acquired the neighboring Pouyat porcelain factory (place des Carmes). The William Guérin & Compagnie factory will close its doors in 1920.
